Airborne Contaminants Science

Any material carried by air may be a contaminant. Airborn contaminants have two main effects:

They interfere with natural processes including functions of the human body and the environment.

They also interfere with industrial processes leading to failure of the process or lower yield and efficiency.

glassfiber, asbestos fiber, mineral fiber, airborne fiber, cancer, clean air, air filtration, cancer, medical application.

There are many different kinds of airborne contaminants. Many are inert materials that harm animals due to their size. A smoke particle may block an airway while a fine mineral fiber may penetrate a pore in skin. Other airborne contaminants may include bacteria or viruses. This site will only be concerned with fibers as airborne contaminants.
