FiberWords - Words relating to fiber

Taxonomy?

The classification of fiber seems to suggest three top-level branches: Natural, Man-Made and Intellectual. The first two are reasonably obvious. The latter category is a holding place for concepts such as moral fiber.

Textiles?

The history, economy and technology of fiber is closely bound up with textiles. Almost every piece of clothing and household material begins as fibers of some material. Can you suggest some that do not start as fibers?
